The Future of Sustainable Clothing

The next generation of clothing may very well be made from organic materials like raw hemp! Sustainable apparel has been picking up steam in recent years. In the past, the low demand for such products has prevented its growth in the free market; sustainable production of a sustainable product could previously never reach a price point that would warrant the necessary investment in the future of green apparel. The high cost of production mixed with a smaller pool of potential customers made the whole idea of sustainable apparel seem unattractive.
However, many successful clothing companies have emerged in recent years. Their success has allowed for more growth in the niche of environmentally conscious apparel. The more we embrace these low impact products, the more they will be able to provide for reasonable prices in the future. Making the switch from cotton to organic hemp is really not so bad; even buying things like belts, sandals, backpacks and purses made in a sustainable way with organic materials makes a huge difference. Hemp is not only a sustainable product that can in fact be offered at competitive prices, but many consumers have learned that it is also much more durable than many textiles.
