Parisians Try to Improve Business With Better Courtesy

Every American knows that Paris is a select destination, but world-famous for its rudeness! With the economic downturn taking its toll on businesses, Paris city government is trying to give a boost to the tourist industry and Franco-American relations by producing a six page booklet called “Do you speak Touriste?” It offers readers greetings in eight languages and tips on spending habits and cultural codes of various nationalities. Being am
mong the top destinations for Asian travelers as well, the guide book also offers tips on how to salute and guide Chinese tourists who are described as “fervid shoppers.” The city warned locals that friendlier cities like London mean that Paris will have to pull its own weight and become more approachable to tourists and visitors from other countries. All in all, the guide probably won't have much success as the snobby Parisian personality is deeply built into the city's social structure and lifestyle. However, there are some useful phrases that a Taxi driver might appreciate knowing how to say in a different language when pressed by tourists.
